Associate online editor Nate Martinez notes, "Our QX has to be one of the most maneuverable full-size SUVs around. It truly drives like a midsize SUV. The steering is very light (an odd feeling for such a hefty machine), yet is highly responsive and makes for a surprisingly fun drive. The QX's immediate thrust never grows old and is easier to regulate compared with our former FX long-termer. The 14-inch brakes clamp hard, but aren't extremely touchy like the FX's binders. It is amazing how little the QX leans into corners. For such a tall vehicle, it remains relatively flat and poised when engaging bends.

"At the same time, it provides a comfortable and well-mannered ride over a variety of pavements. Compared with the jittery model it replaces, the current QX56 is quiet and civilized."

I test drove this vehicle before I bought my Infiniti G37S Coupe.  While it is tall, it certainly is not as long as full-sized cars used to be.  It would easily fit in my garage.  I found, however, that it is wide enough that I would not want to park next to anybody in a narrow parking spot.  I love Infiniti's attention to detail.  This is a beautiful vehicle...real wood, metal, soft leather...opulent I would say.  The only negative for me is that it is only slightly better on gas than my old Pontiac Grand Am which got 12 mpg.  We're paying $3.50 a gallon for gas in Las Vegas, so I am glad I have my 330 hp Infiniti where I'm averaging 22.5 mpg overall.
