After 10 months of multiple road trips, rain showers, pitted paths, cargo types, and passenger demands, my little Juke has held up superbly well. In fact, I'm extremely proud of it. Why? Because in the world of automotive media chauffeurs, it's hard for a new car to survive with little battle scarring or lingering ailments. But the Juke isn't immune to all wear and tear. With some 20,000-plus miles of selfless service shown on its digital odometer, a few age-indicative signs (and niggles) are making themselves known.

The biggest age indicator has to be an interior splotched with worn leather. Like the hide lining the doors of our dearly departed 2010 GT-R long termer, portions of the Juke's dyed black seats -- particularly in the rear -- are quickly fading to white.

I'd normally attribute it to high-wear, but then again, I rarely cart around more than a front passenger during the week. Some fellow staffers have opined that excessive sun exposure plus the occasional rider could be to blame. Regardless of cause, the seats continue to provide great support. Too bad they don't look all that swell. During a recent three-hour trek to Mammoth Mountain, buddies Kevin and Robert noticed their soda cups couldn't fit inside the two holders (one per door). Those with containers other than regular sized water bottles onboard will have to grip their drinks tight because the rear door-mounted holders don't accommodate a lot of extra-large shapes.

On our way to the mountain we easily fit our luggage inside the small hold with the bench seat folded. On the way back, things were a little different thanks to a shopping stop that afforded us two new Burton boards.

Before we could head home we had to make sure our luggage 1) Fit; 2) Fit without completely blocking my rear visibility; and 3) Fit without hitting the hatch's exposed gas shocks. The latter can be extremely tricky if said luggage is medium-to-large in size. I'm happy to report that we got it all in with some contorting and repacking. Good thing we grew up playing Tetris.
