First Look: 2008 Ford Nitemare F-150

New Nitemare for Ford

Ford tuner/racer/builder Roush Industries has introduced the Nitemare F-150, a black regular cab of which only 100 will be made. It has a supercharged 5.4-liter V-8, with specific manifolds, intercooler and induction system, and radiator, for 445 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. (And it's covered by Roush's three-year/36,000-mile warranty.) Also fitted are a 3.73:1 rearend with limited-slip and a speed limiter recalibrated for 105 mph.

Visual distinction comes from tone-on-tone paintwork, front chin spoiler, black aluminum billet grille, and dual rear-exit exhaust. The interior receives leather seats with embroidered logo and floormats, black instruments with red illumination, billet-aluminum pedals, badges, and serial number. Options include a rear wing, decorative hood scoop, GPS, and a sport suspension system with a 2/3-inch drop front/rear, front antiroll bar, and matched shocks.

Retail is $41,750 ($43,525 with sport suspension) at Roush-authorized Ford dealers--not far off from the cost of a discontinued SRT10.
