Shelby's History has revolved around Ford cars, and 20 years ago, the company expanded to include trucks, too. We had the chance to test drive the 2007 Super Snake Ford F-150, the regular-cab concept version of which Shelby Autos revealed at the 2009 SEMA show. The truck we tested is a SuperCrew, which was given the full Shelby treatment. The red 2007 F-150 has black Super Snake stripes, a functional hood, and Alcoa Shelby 22-inch wheels with Pirelli Scorpion tires.
Its 5.4-liter engine now puts out 475 horsepower, thanks to a Whipple supercharger and Borla exhaust. It also received forged six-piston Baer brakes with cross-drilled and vented rotors. In addition, the truck received a DJM suspension, which lowers the truck three inches and was sport-tuned to improve handling. Styling features include the custom front fascia and grille, plus side fender vents, brake cooling ducts, and Super Snake badges. The cabin has been given the official Shelby CSM interior plate, plus Shelby leather interior, embroidered headrests, and floor mats. There's also a Kicker sound system with subwoofer. The Super Snake has a tonneau cover and bed rug.
