First Look: 2007 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin
The newly improved AdvanceTrac... The newly improved AdvanceTrac all-wheel-drive system is designed to provide more grip for spin-happy rear-drive models, yet still communicates familiar rear-drive dynamics with a 40/60 (front/rear) grip split. Side vents are fully functional,... Side vents are fully functional, pulling air from the engine compartment as the blower generates heat.
Four black-leather bucket... Four black-leather bucket seats with red inserts sit inside the Adrenalin cockpit. A rear center console will distinguish the SVT model from the standard rear bench seat in the Sport Trac. Can the King Ranch Edition be far behind? Cross-drilled and vented rotors... Cross-drilled and vented rotors and bright-red twin-piston calipers sit inside 21-inch split-spoke alloy wheels. 295/45R21 Goodyear tires (custom-cut for SVT) sit at all four corners.
The bed is 30-percent larger... The bed is 30-percent larger than the previous Sport Trac's bed, thanks to a lower bed height (a result of the independent rear suspension) and taller bed rails. There are several lockable storage bins in the floor and sides of the bed. The new look of Ford Truck?... The new look of Ford Truck? Looking Audi-esque, the blacked-out center section between the upper and lower grille gives us an idea of what future Ford truck faces may look like. Blacked-out foglights in the front fascia have been an SVT signature detail in the past.
Using a 4.6-liter, 32-valve... Using a 4.6-liter, 32-valve V-8 with a Roots-type supercharger and intercooler, the Adrenalin is rated at 390 horsepower at 5400 rpm, and 390 pound-feet of torque at 4200 rpm. Although the concept has the first SVT-application six-speed automatic, we expect this unit to make it into production. The unique rear spoiler is... The unique rear spoiler is integrated into the tailgate to help smooth out turbulence as wind is guided over the rear of the truck. Rectangular dual exhaust ports exit on either side of the license-plate holder, integrated into the color-matched roll pan. Although not shown with a trailer hitch, the Adrenalin is rated to tow 6000 pounds.
