I wish there was more about some great mid size trucks here. I love my Frontier 4x4 supercharged. Not every truck enthusiast wants a freightliner, some just want a pickup truck.
yep. my aunt works for toyota. =) she lost he job at GM with the bankruptcy but toyota said they would LOVE TO HAVE HER and, they even paid her relocation fees too. 23 yrs at gm and for what? she loves toyota. she is an automation/logistics specialist and will retire from toyota in 5 yrs.
That "buy American" line implies that domestically the U.S. doesn't benefit from the sale of a Toyota vehicle, which generally couldn't be further from the truth. As far as i'm concerned it doesn't matter whether a company is union or not. I'm glad to hear you take pride supporting what you do, but you shouldn't dismiss the work of another hardworking American supporting his family because of the company that employees him. Honestly, in our modern global economy the whole "buy American" thing is a fallacy and nothing more than a marketing ploy. Toyota is generally an all around good company that keeps its non-union employees happy and does a lot for this country and their workers on all levels. To date, the Texas truck plant alone has seen a $2.9 billion dollar investment in the U.S. economy. They continually donate to science and educational programs in the US which is why they got to do the Endeavor shuttle pull, they participate in the Hire Heroes Program where U.S. combat veterans are hired and given jobs throughout the company and donated 1 million dollars alone to the victims of hurricane Sandy in 2012. Toyota has donated $13.4 million dollars to community causes in the state of Texas alone and donated millions more nation wide. Toyota and GM even shared a plant in California which opened in 1985 until it was forced to close with the bankruptcy of GM in 2009. I'm all for buying American products and I am a happy Tundra owner myself. Built by American hand, with an 85% domestic parts content (That has since increased in later production years) and a Made in USA sticker on the door jam. The idea that "all the profits go overseas" is yet another fallacy as well. Does some money go overseas? Yes. Is that true for all vehicle brands? Yes. Does the majority of the money made from the sale of a Toyota pickup stay domestic? Yes again. The moral of the story is we live in a country with a free market economy, consumers get the benefit of companies competing for our business. As a smart consumer you buy what you want and where you can get the most bang for your buck. My goal is not to look like a sales rep but to add factual balance to this thread without personal shots. Don't automatically dismiss something because of the logo on the grille.
It was actually conceived, designed, manufactured and produced in the US.
Exactly right Christian. Toyota has created MORE THAN 350,000 American jobs.
I am a private investor.I am interested in establishing and operating a very viable business as a means of investment abroad. If you have any good business proposal, it will be funded

In Texas I've heard the people at the Toyota plant make less than half what someone would make at GM. I've heard also that they treat their employees poorly.
Dont blame the unions for corporate greed
Japan didn't whoop us. We whooped them. Get over it! Go live somewhere else unpatriotic ingreat

Sorry, but that thing is butt ass ugly !!! Omg !!!
Might be the truck Lexus would build. But it'd be the truck I couldn't afford.
Can you imagine the premium on a Lexus branded truck? About $15,000. Lol
I know some guys who really like their Tundra but man is this thing UGLY. I mean its so ugly it doesn't even have an alibi. Truck buyers are a very loyal group so this was a dead end for Toyota to explore but the very least they could have done was make it look American not not an import (even if they build them in Texas).
Ford got loans (Loan: The intent to pay it back) to invest in green technology and to invest in upgrading production plants. Other Auto makers also got loans from the US Government for the same reasons. Ford DID NOT get a bailout, nor did Ford cause the US taxpayers to lose 10 billion like we just did days ago with GM. If you are going to tell a story at least tell the whole story, not just the part that you wish to share to make a company look bad.
All you people are ever going to see is a tundra's taillights
