Since its last update, the Wrangler made a pit stop at La Brea Chrysler-Jeep in L.A. for its second service, a $60.74 maintenance that included an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation. The dealer also replaced the license-plate assembly, including the lamp, for $97.14-broken during one of our off-road excursions. Perhaps it's those excursions that have caused the Wrangler's stereo/navigation system to go AWOL intermittently, leaving us lost and audibly deprived, as were photog Brian Vance and senior editor Ed Loh on an outing to Death Valley: "Eventually we made it to the Barker Ranch with the help of a Jeep club that was nice enough to point us in the right direction while admiring the four-door Rubicon with an eye of jealousy." We'll have the audio/nav checked out when the repairman fixes the Rubicon's front bumper, which-yep-got dented during an off-road excursion. C'mon, it's a Jeep.

With less than 2300 miles on the clock, our 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon edition's versatility has already been put to the test.
2 Months and 3542 Miles - On a road trip to Las Vegas, Truck Trend editor Mark Williams took the Jeep out on some open 4x4 areas and found that, even with the BFG mud tires at full pressure (37 psi), they were digging and grabbing the loose dirt with ease.
4 Months and 6241 Miles - After a brief tour of duty in the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, executive editor Stone concludes: "It's amazing that it took nearly 60 years for the original Jeep to morph into a four-door, but it sure makes sense."
7 Months and 9760 Miles - The Wrangler has managed to record 15 mpg over its nearly 10,000-mile stay with us, a figure that supports the EPA's revised 2008 fuel-economy ratings for the Jeep.
9 months and 13,330 miles - "I drove the Wrangler through the mud and record snowfall of the Sierra," says photographer Brian Vance, who recorded 2000 miles in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon during a roundtrip from Los Angeles to Reno via Sacramento.
