Remember the Mitsubishi Endeavor? After taking a one-year sabbatical, the mid-sized crossover SUV rejoins the new Outlander on Mitsubishi’s show floors for 2010.
The Endeavor will still be assembled in Illinois on the same PS platform as the current-generation Eclipse and Galant, still obtain motivation from a single-cam V-6, still come with available all-wheel drive, and still tout backroads capability. Where it has been altered is in the appearance and features department, with fresh additions including Mitsubishi’s corporate front grille, a restyled tailgate, two new colors, and standard Bluetooth.
While the refreshed Outlander features a noticeably “crossover-ed” exterior, the unibody Endeavor retains a more classic SUV look, complete with muscular styling, pronounced wheel arches, large rear quarter windows, and a long, straight roofline. Up front, the old bar-design front grille has been replaced by styling that is more akin to Mitsubishi’s current stable. Out back, the tailgate is adorned with new chrome trim and larger taillights. With two new paint colors, the palette total sits at five: Carbon Pearl, Dover White Pearl, Kalapana Black, Maizen Blue Pearl, and Quick Silver Metallic.
Inside, the Endeavor’s spacious legroom makes fitting passengers a breeze, with 41.4 inches available in the first row and 38.5 inches available in the rear row. The CUV boasts 76.4 cu. ft. of cargo space with the rear seats folded, and 40.7 cu. ft. with the seats in place. Given the ample interior dimensions, the biggest setback is perhaps the lack of a third-row seat.
