Long Term Update 6: 2010 Subaru Outback
Senior editor Jonny Lieberman was impressed with the way this Subaru has survived its increase in size: "Even though the Outback has ballooned up to an SUV, the steering is still responsive and sporty." There are some gripes about the interior. The cream-colored leather shows dirt. In addition, many think it's silly to have to toggle through a couple menu screens just to cancel the nav.
"A better solution would be a "nav cancel" button on the main screen. It also seems silly that most of the infotainment features are locked out when the Subaru's in motion. The front passenger can't control the nav while the driver figures out where to go, and a person driving solo can easily spend too much time fiddling with the iPod."
