2015 Volvo V60 T5 Drive-E Long-Term Update 1

My first couple of months with the Swede wagon have come and gone and I am still really enjoying it. Recently the V60 competed in our annual Car of the Year program and I got a chance to drive it around the Hyundai proving grounds near Mojave, California. We had two versions of the Scandinavian hauler at COTY: the four-cylinder turbo found in our long-termer, and the beastly-looking, amazingly blue V60 Polestar.
With 345 hp, 369 lb-ft, massive Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Super Sports, the Polestar has a much different personality than our tame four-banger. Firmer, faster, and more fun to drive, the V60 Polestar is the coolest thing to come out of Gothenburg since the boxy 850Rs of the past.
After flogging the Polestar around the winding test track and taking it for a blast around the 5-mile oval, I hopped into my long-termer for a spin. Obviously the limits were reduced, but I still really enjoyed tossing it around the track. And although I think the super-aggressive V60 Polestar looks cool, I prefer the cleaner lines and stylish 19-inch wheels on my long-termer. I am happy with my Swede wagon!

Photo 2/12   |   Get one while they last. By the time you read this, most of the Polestars will have been snapped up. Ours was number 73 out of 80!
Photo 3/12   |   The V60 Polestar (pictured here) is a rare bird and fun to drive. It looks awesome in Rebel blue with those super-aggressive 20-inch wheels.
