At 7500 miles, the Tucson went in for its maiden maintenance, a very reasonable $58.90 oil change, full inspection, and tire rotation. Editor at large Ron Kiino took the Hyundai on a fishing trip to the mountains, and notes, "The Tucson's turning circle, at 34.7 feet, is noticeably tidier than the CR-V's (37.8) as well as the Outback's (36.8). This difference may not seem a big deal, but it comes in handy more often than not. It's nice knowing that even sharp U-turns are no problem. Over my 1000-mile road trip, the Hyundai returned 25.1 mpg-right in line with its EPA numbers of 21 city/28 highway/24 combined. The Tucson's NavTraffic feature was handy when I left the bustle of Los Angeles and when I returned. In both circumstances, I was able to check which freeways were clogged and then reroute if necessary."
