Long Term Update 1: 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4
3 Months and 5728 Miles
It's been about four years since we had a long-term Jeep, and in that time, the company has done a lot to improve on the details. Associate Online Editor Benson Kong likes the Jeep's steering wheel controls, for example: "Being able to actually scroll through the satellite radio channels and not just presets is a godsend." We've even gotten used to the much-maligned five-speed automatic, which isn't great, but it's not all that bad, either. However, as online production manager Kirill Ougarov notes, "One thing the Grand Cherokee will never get props for is fuel economy. Our V-6 has averaged 17.7 mpg so far and, thanks to its gargantuan 24.6-gallon tank and the rapidly rising cost of gas, it has been pretty rough on the wallet."
