2013 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Long-Term Update 3

11 Months and 21,375 Miles: Mazda Makes a Useful Moving Buddy

Truck Trend EditorsJun 5, 2013
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 has received critical acclaim from us and other automotive media for bringing a whole new level of driving dynamics to the compact crossover class, a vehicle segment better-known for its kid-friendly practicality than behind-the-wheel thrills. But the fact of the matter is, if you're going to be a viable competitor in this segment, practicality is an indisputable element of building a compact SUV.
Motor Trend Associate Online Editor Nate Martinez, the appointed guardian of our long-term 2013 Mazda CX-5 put Hiroshima's cute-ute to the test with his recent move, loading up the vehicle with multiple big blue Rubbermaid tubs, and cramming assorted miscellaneous items between the cracks. While the CX-5's maximum volume of 65.4 cubic feet can't quite stack up to the class-leading Toyota RAV4's 73.4 cubic feet or the Honda CR-V's 70.9, the space proved sufficient enough to get his belongings to his new home.
